We Will Remember

As dawn wakens the night, we reflect on the Australian and New Zealand soldiers landing on the Gallipoli Peninsula in 1915 and symbolically recognise the quiet and isolated moments they endured during the war.  Anzac Day is a time to gather together and remember those who were lost, who fought, and who continue to serve for Australia and New Zealand today.  Spring of 1915 brought a red field poppy which scattered the battlefields of Belgium, France and Gallipoli.  It became synonymous with great loss of life during the war and thus signifies remembrance.  Anzac Day is a moving and sentimental experience which will always have great significance in our lives.

  We Will Remember

To mark the day we have baked an Anzac Tart with Macadamia Praline and Cinnamon Syrup.  You can find the recipe here

Cheats Ciabatta

Last weekend I gave bread making a go.  I used this recipe here from le Petit Brioche, which cuts out the pre-mix "starter", so you can be eating delicious warm bread in just a few hours.

Bonjour

Bonjour's invitingly whimsical entrance

Bonjour! and welcome to Cecile Boston's gorgeous French and European lifestyle boutique giftshop.  Aptly named, Bonjour is located in the lovely suburb of Albert Park, Melbourne.

Cecile's store is bursting  with absolutely beautiful little treasures - such as European homewares and ceramics, handmade jewellery and crafts, genuine provincial antiques, ladies fashion and treats for the little kiddies.

From the gorgeous whitewashed beams, to the smell of beautiful soaps, scented candles and perfect lighting – this place oozes charm.  Every piece in this shop has been chosen by Cecile herself and handpicked with love.

We love to support local businesses and are truly glad to have found this perfect little gem.  If you get the chance, pop by and visit this shop, I promise you won't leave disappointed (or empty handed).

Toffee Snow Apples

I'm a little bit obsessed with anything miniature, so when I saw these tiny snow apples at the market, I had to buy them! I decided to make a beautiful autumn treat and childhood favourite of mine, toffee apples.

These make such a cute gift and would also make a gorgeous wedding favour wrapped up beautifully as name and place tag for an autumn inspired wedding.
