Strawberry Fields Forever

 

 

Last year I made a summer "to-do" list and nothing says summer more than strawberry picking. I can't actually remember the last time I went to a P.Y.O orchard, but I know I'll be making sure I get to one every summer season. I found an organic farm just outside of Melbourne, Ladybird Organics and had an amazing time picking and sampling the sweetest strawberries. Making home-made jam was, not only great fun, but satisfying too. I adapted this recipe, which incorporates a slight twist adding rosemary and balsamic vinegar. I loved using berries whole and the jam is absolutely delicious. I enjoyed wrapping each jar up in gingham and twine and giving it to family for Christmas presents.

Salamanca Market

During a trip to Hobart a few weeks back, I was lucky enough to visit the wonderfully bustling Salamanca Markets, which were celebrating their 40th anniversary. I love all their farm-fresh produce, handmade crafts and especially home-made treats. Here are a few of my favourite pictures from the day.

Wedding Bells

The Sewing Table

We found this little gem sitting on the road-side in Matakana. We used the colour "Moby" from Resene and are thrilled with the result.

Canary Yellow Chair

We have been busy restoring furniture! We came across this 1950s styled chair which we purchased for $27 and thought a bright yellow velvet was just what it needed for a lift!

We love to incorporate bright accents into our homes through furniture and decorative elements.
